This project would not succeed without the help of many people. Here are the individuals that are members of the deployment cruise team.
Chris started working in our group just before our 2004 cruise to the East Pacific Rise and Jake has been with us since around 2007. These guys are awesome and I can’t say enough good things about them, and how many of our previous experiments have been successes in no small part due to their attention to detail and hard work. Not to mention they are great shipmates and love teaching the newbies the ropes. Samer is a Scripps Postdoc who just finished doing his PhD with me; his dissertation focused on the SERPENT EM data set we collected off Nicaragua back in 2010. This fall Samer will start a postdoc at Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory. Dallas is a Scripps graduate student working with Steve Constable on using EM to map offshore permafrost and using EM methods to map sediment properties off Uruguay. Georgie and Marah are Scripps graduate students who have just completed their first year of geophysics classes. Georgie will use the MT data we collect on this project for her thesis research. Marah is learning how to use the equipment, since later this summer we will use it to collect data for her thesis, which includes using controlled-source EM imaging to map fresh groundwater trapped in offshore sediments. Finally Chloe and Daniel are incoming Scripps graduate students that will start taking their first year geophysics classes this fall.
